Hello! My name is Aisha, and I’m in my final year of undergrad at the University of Toronto. The photos above capture a small part of my recent journey to Japan for an accessibility-related initiative.
I’ve been doing Model United Nations (MUN) since grade ten. But there’s so many people who have been doing it for way longer, and as such, I’ve met such amazing people along the way! I’ve organized numerous conferences, attended just as many as a delegate, and I’m now officially retired from MUN.
This website was created to help bridge the gaps between student clubs across the North American MUN circuit, so that all students have access to quality resources. It’s hard to read clumps of text in order to learn MUN (just like this probably, haha!). That’s why, I have provided presentations and resources I created throughout my MUN years to help students do well in conferences. Anecdotally, the schools which I’ve seen delegates win are renowned for admitting students from wealthier backgrounds, due to the fact that many are private academies. My observations are also supported with evidence from studies, such as this one. That’s why, my present research and initiatives have focused on accessibility to all and bridging that socioeconomic gap. Likewise, this website is one of the ways I would like to accomplish my goal.
It is my greatest hope that you’ll have fun using these resources. My time in MUN was the absolute highlight in high school. I cherished all the friends I made there, and it motivated me to create activities that everyone in my team would enjoy.
